2 1/2 hours west of Salt Lake City on I-80 you drive through the Bonneville Salt Flats - world famous raceway for record breaking speeds- and past a huge manmade tree to the gambling houses of just over the stateline.

Great Salt Lake

This Is the Place State Park
The park is the site of numerous summer activities. Old Deseret Village re-creates daily pioneer life in a typical Utah community between 1847 and 1869. Structures include adobe houses, shops, schools, churches, and the restored Brigham Young Forest farmhouse. This is the Place Monument commemorates the arrival of Mormon pioneers Brigham Young, Heber C. This museum is the only general art museum in the state. Park City
Wonderful historic mining town nestled in the mountains 1 hour east of Salt Lake City on I-80. Skiing, shopping, golfing (Park City Golf Course 435-521-2135), wonderful restaurants, and hotel accommodations. Many historic building tours available, as well as an underground tour of the mine (Park City Silver Mine Adventure 435-655-7444). Park City is also to be a part of the 2002 Olympics.
